eveglass: (hug me)
Right. So tonight, after doing most of the work I wanted to do, I went outside and spun poi for a while, just because I could. My wrists held out for about 15 minutes, and then I decided to call it quits for the night. On the up-side, 1. I did not hit myself with high-speed spinning objects (too much), 2. I got some very confused looks. I call it a successful practice.

Tomorrow, I've got two more articles to read (one a 45-page French article, one a 10-page English one), and then outlining and writing. For the first time this week, I don't actually have anything scheduled, so I can take the whole day to work on this. After pondering in the shower, I now have a rough idea of how I'm going to outline this sucker so that I can work in everything I want to say. Yay for that. (Are you utterly bored with this talk about paper-writing? I am! Only 4 more days left!) The goal is to write 6-8 pages tomorrow, the same on Saturday (with perhaps a fast library-visit to check facts I don't have immediately on-hand), and edit on Sunday. Monday I hand it in, write the Latin exam, and that's the end of my semester, to all intents and purposes. Yay!

Now I'm going to go to bed. Strangely, this is actually early compared to the last two nights. G'night all.
Brief note for those who don't check old LJ posts: I have added a link in my last entry to an old post in which I attempt to answer the question "who are you?" Feel free to check it our or not as you desire. (What do you want?)

That said, on to the fun stuff. This evening it was beautiful out. Warm enough that I could be outside in just a t-shirt. Figuring I wouldn't have too many more days like this, I grabbed my poi and headed outside for some spinning. I'm quite rusty, but still able to do most of the tricks I taught myself over the summer. Of course, I whacked myself on the cheekbone doing it, because it figures that if I'm going to hit myself, I'll do it somewhere where the bruise will show and be socially awkward. At least it wasn't my eye, so I'll be thankful for the small favours provided to me by the Universe.

(Ever get the sense that the Universe is trying to send you messages? Deep, profound messages? Messages like, "don't twirl objects around you at high speeds, idiot!"?)

When I came back inside, I treated myself to 2 episodes of Babylon 5, putting me one episode in to season 3. God, I love that show! I have one more episode to watch before Tuesday, but I'll save that for the weekend.

Some boring stuff about school )

Tomorrow is the unveiling of Latin Boggle (CMS people, I expect to see you there!), followed by dinner with my aunt. I'm going to be missing poker for it, but I made plans with her first. And that's it for now. G'night everyone.
I realize that though I have been posting fairly regularly lately, I haven't done a simple "what have I been doing" post since Sunday. So I might as well write SOMETHING, so my masses of devoted readers (ha ha) know what Julie the Munchkin has been up to.

My week so far. )

Upcoming plans )

And now, for some amusement, a page out of Rachel's book: An internal dialogue.

What goes on in my head sometimes. )
Please note: I have recently realized that it is actually easier for me to write long entries than short ones. It's a way for me to "brain-dump" without thinking about what I'm saying or abridging stuff. If you don't like reading long entries, you don't have to. That's why I lj-cut them.

Yesterday and today in a nutshell: trans-generational lunch, reality-in-question movies, good food and good friends #1, spinning to the beat of my own drummer, good food and good friends #2 )

And that's it. Off to bed shortly. G'night everyone!
Short-ish cuts, but I don't want to take up too much space on my friends' pages:

The SCA event was a pretty good one )

Hoopers BBQ was also lots of fun -- play with my balls! )

Today I have many errands to run, including renewing my inhaler perscription, picking up my $12,000 piece of paper, cashing a check (for much less than $12,000), writing a story for our local SCA newsletter, and stuff like that. Still don't know what I'm doing tonight. I start work tomorrow, though, so this is my last weekday of freedom for a while!
