Wine, women, and song

The event did indeed turn out to be a good one. I watched not one, but two baronial championship competitions (one for heaving fighting, one for fencing) and heralded the latter. Mostly this just means I yelled, "Called to the lists, so-and-so and so-and-so! In waiting, so-and-so and so-and-so!" (Where "so-and-so" should be replaced with the names of real people, obviously.) But it was fun.
There was a fun court by our Baron Aragorn-- I mean Pellandres and Baronness Valeria, and that was fun too. There was also a poi demonstration with live fire -- way cool! They've been at it for a year and a half, so I'm still hopeful that I'll reach that point some day. And then about 3-4 hours of bardic. Yay bardic!
The weather was not kind to my athsma last night: I wheezed through most of it, having foolishly forgotten my inhaler at home. Feh. But I'm getting better now!
Got home yesterday and went to Hoopers picnic / barbque. I played with balls, other people played with my balls (sometimes with hilarious results), and I have decided that I must fix my balls very soon. Hopefully today. I don't want them to keep coming off their strings. (In case you haven't guessed, I'm talking about my poi balls.)
Then lots of tasty food at the barbque, lots of good conversation all around, so on and so forth. Just generally a good time.
Today I have many errands to run, including renewing my inhaler perscription, picking up my $12,000 piece of paper, cashing a check (for much less than $12,000), writing a story for our local SCA newsletter, and stuff like that. Still don't know what I'm doing tonight. I start work tomorrow, though, so this is my last weekday of freedom for a while!
