Could it be? Could we finally be finished? Yes! The Voice of Doom is officially over! The Witch King is dead! The Plague God is dead! Gun'Mora has apotheosed into the god of wisdom and secrets! Azlo has taken the vengeance portfolio! Lyanna's temple has been destroyed again!

...Oh, well. Can't win 'em all.

October 28, 2011 )
The Dol Mosh is dead! Sing the praises and hallelujahs! Shelezar now finds itself bolstered by a thousand resurrected elves and two dozen angels, all of whom have been set free from their imprisonment by the Dol Mosh.

The bad news is that the Witch King is back and it may very well be the inevitable end of the world.

Oh, well. Can't win 'em all.

(By the way, Andrew the GM assures us that we have only one session left. I'll believe it when I see it.)

October 17, 2011 )

And that's it for this week. Join us next time for the supposed end of the Voice of Doom! Only one session left! (We hope.)
We are now two (count'em, two) sessions past Andrew the GM's original estimate of game end, and we've still got at least two battles to go. Yes, my friends, we did not actually get to the (theoretically) penultimate battle with the Dol Mosh, though all the pieces are in place... we hope. Instead, we wound up scheming, plotting, negotiating, and otherwise *not* fighting. Better get on to those quotes...

Oct. 11, 2011 )

So... next week we get to the fight with the Dol Mosh for sure. Many one of these years we can get to our final, ultimate goal of destroying the Plague God. That would be nice too. Until next week!
This week's session was on Monday, as usual, but I've been so busy with the conference that I haven't had a chance to post quotes until now. This week, we had the epic battle with the forces of Malar, and now we've only got two more battles left. (In theory.) Andrew the GM assures us there are only two sessions left, which is funny given that we're now at one session past when he originally estimated the game would end.

September 19, 2011 )

And that's it for now. There's no game this week, but join us next week where we answer the epic question, "Will the Dol Mosh kill the White Queen, or will we kill him first?"
That's right! The voice of doom is back! Last night, we set up for the third-to-last battle of the game!

..."Third to last, Julie? Weren't you supposed to have already done the final epic ultimate battle?" Well, yes. But this is the Voice of Doom. You didn't really *believe* Andrew the GM when he said the final, ultimate battle was *actually* the final battle, did you?

(If you go back to Andrew the GM's original accounting, last night's session was supposed to have been the final session. As of next week, we're officially into the T-minus negative numbers.)

Sept. 12, 2011 )

And that's it for this week! Next week, I will likely be Skyping into the game from Toronto so I can continue to record all the hilarity as we attack the King of the Moon and crush his forces. Hopefully. Join us then!
Utterly unsurprising news: the game hasn't ended! What a shock! In fact, we're just setting up for another series of encounters, one against a massed host of lycanthropes and demons, one against the combined forces of the Dol Mosh and Malik. But we're really, really close to endgame now. Only 2-3 weeks game-time. (Sigh.)

August 29, 2011 - Be warned, somewhat more swearing than usual )

And that's it for this week. Join us next week when we discover if our silliest plan yet (drop silver claymore mines on the lycanthropes and pummel them with peppers and rotten fish) will actually work! See you then!
Last night saw the Epic Battle of Epicness (tm). Since regular mass battle is clearly not epic enough, Andrew the GM converted all our characters and their followers into Warhammer miniatures and we did the final gigantic battle as a Warhammer game. Well, almost the final battle. The game's not over yet. But we're getting close! So close! (Yeah, where have I heard that before...)

August 27, 2011 )

So the Shelezarian forces have destroyed Kyo's army to the south of Shelezar, Azure Deathgod has scattered the remnants of the forces of evil to the north of the city, and things have settled down again so that we can finish building the weapon of ultimate power to take out the Plague God. Well, in theory settled down. "Settled" is such a strong word. In fact, we've got yet more battles to do, boys and girls. Join us Monday when we find out what happens next!
Could it be? Are we actually... almost at the end? After last night's session, Andrew the GM declared that we are now in our year-long downtime and all that's left is the final climactic battle. (Yeah, yeah, I'll believe it when I see it.) In any case, last night we FINALLY got to the battle between the Forces of Light and the Dark Seraph's army. Well... sorta. You'll see. (Current time to theoretical game-end: T minus 3 sessions.)

July 11, 2011 )

And that's it for this week. There's no session next week, and we're probably not having the big final battle until after Pennsic, so there won't be any Voice of Doom for a while. Just as well, really. This game has gotten ridiculously overpowered, even for us.
Well, the world did not end. This is both good, in the sense that the world was not tragically destroyed in some plague-god-related catastrophe, but also bad, in the sense that we did not get through all the plot that Andrew the GM promised us we would. (You're shocked, I know.) What *did* wind up happening was an elaborate plot to trap the Dol Mosh... which wound up not working. Ah, well. Easy come, easy go. Current time to game-end theoretically stands at T minus 4 sessions.

June 27, 2011 )

And that's it for this week. Next week, we watch the grand battle between Malik, the Dark Seraph, the Dol Mosh, and the angels! Well... maybe. If we get to it. It's been high on our priority list for at least four sessions. But next time for real! We hope! Join us then!
Last night, Azlo entered an epic battle with his nemesis one of his nemeses, Swordmaster Horath, while Malik the Godless tried to negotiate with Lyanna and Neyrr (mostly unsuccessfully). We're coming into the end-game, people. Andrew the GM claims that there will only be five more sessions left of Voice of Doom! The players, meanwhile, are taking bets as to how many sessions there will actually be. Current time stands at T minus 5. I'll count down as we go and we'll see whether we hit the double-digit positives.

Anway... onwards!

June 20, 2011 )

That's it for this week. Andrew the GM assures us that after next week, we'll have about a year of downtime. I'll believe it when I see it. Check back next time to see if it really happens!
Last night's session featured the cutest little deathbringer in the multiverse, a two-faced god, and a bunch of very enthusiastic macho men shouting, "Oooh, yeah!" With this sort of diversity, it can only be... the Voice of Doom!

June 13, 2011 )

And that's it for this week! Next week, Lyanna attempts to take on the entire Dark Seraph's army, all by herself! It'll be epic! Come back then to see what crazy things will happen next time in the Voice of Doom!
Last night's session involved a bunch of political maneuvering. Even more impressive, we wound up advancing the plot nearly two weeks! Unthinkable! Crazy! And if you think that's crazy, just wait 'till you see some of this week's quotes!

June 8, 2011 )

And that's it for this week. Next week, we're god hunting! Yay! Come back next time to see if we all wind up dead!
What is this mythical beast that approaches? Could it be... downtime? Shh! Don't say it too loud! You might scare it away!

Yes, my friends, we got through a week and a half of semi-downtime in yesterday's Voice of Doom session. No combat, lots of politicking. Let's get to it!

May 30, 2011 )

Thus ends this week's quotes. Join us next week, where we see if we can keep the streak going and make it through another two weeks next time. Survey says: probably not, but we can always hope.
At long last, the plot begins to move forward again! Raise the trumpets! Begin the parades! Actually... a parade is exactly how we started last night's game, and we ended with Azlo corrupting an extremely holy blade and Lyanna marching an army of golems into Shelezar. My friends, such insanity can only exist in... The Voice of Doom!

May 23, 2011 )

And that's it for this week. In an astonishing display of efficiency, we actually got through four days of game-time last night. Here's hoping the trend continues next week. Tune back then to find out!
Remember when I said last time that we'd finally left the fortress of the Lich Queen? Well, that was true, but we had some unfinished business to attend to. Like destroying her phylactery. Which we did last night, with an overwhelmingly large boom. Because if there's one thing we've learned in Voice of Doom Land, it's that there's no such thing as too much firepower.

May 16, 2011 )

So that's it for this week. Next week, we theoretically start two months of downtime. I'll believe it when I see it.
This is it, my friends! After three and a half months of real-time gaming, we've *finally* left the fortress of the Lich Queen! Of course, we had to do some pretty serious negotiating with the One in the Void first. So... onwards!

May 9, 2011 )

Next week, I promise we're back on the Prime. Back to the main plot and more treasure! Yay!
We did it, my friends! After the copious application of high-level spells, we managed to turn the Lich Queen into a fig tree... and then immolated it! Except, this being the Voice of Doom, we're not free and clear yet. No, now we've got to deal with a rampaging Azlo, whose artifact-level armor has convinced him that Neyrr and the rest of the PCs are his mortal enemies. To stop him, we must drop the Black Heart into an active volcano (what are we, Lord of the Rings?) and destroy the Lich Queen's phylactery. Onwards!

April 11, 2011 )

And that's it for this week. Join us next time when we see if we can restore Azlo's sanity before he destroys the entire party.
Remember how I said that last week we managed to open a door and get through one combat round? This week, we did even less than that! One combat round in two hours of gameplay! Yay! When combat is *this* long epic, you know it's gotta be the Voice of Doom!

April 4, 2011 )

Next week, the epic conclusion to the combat, or just more fighting? Who knows! If all goes according to plan, the Lich Queen might wind up a fig tree. If it doesn't, we may all be dead. Come back next time to find out which it'll be!
In this week's session, we managed to open a door and get through one round of combat. But it was more epic than it sounds. Really. I don't know how it can be any less epic than it sounds.

March 28, 2011 )

And that's it for this week. Next week, if we're lucky, we'll actually finish the damned combat so we can get back to our regularly scheduled plot.
After a three-week hiatus, the Voice of Doom is back! Time for another almost-all-combat session! Woo, killing things and taking their treasure!

March 23, 2011 )

That's it for this week, kiddies! Next week, if all goes according to plan, we fight the Lich Queen herself and finally get ourselves out of this ruttin' dungeon and back to the plot!
