Please note: I have recently realized that it is actually easier for me to write long entries than short ones. It's a way for me to "brain-dump" without thinking about what I'm saying or abridging stuff. If you don't like reading long entries, you don't have to. That's why I lj-cut them.

Yesterday I went for lunch with my mom, brother, and grandfather. For a man almost 90 years old, he's still got it together! He's funny, articulate, mobile... quite impressive, really. He's a guy I can look at and say, "that's the type of person I'd like to be in 70 years."

After that, I went with Ian to see The Island. Ah, more sci-fi "reality in question" movies. I liked it: it mixed sci-fi thinking with lots of big booms. My only complaint is the "chain of circumstances" (or, to borrow a phrase from Mage, "the domino effect"): that is, things just conspired at unlikely times to prevent Our Heroes from being smouldering piles of dead meat. Other than that, I liked it quite a bit.

Then, over to Ian's parents' for tasty (if stressful) dinner, Ian's place to drop off laundry, books, and car, and then over to Ciné Express to see Alex, Shaugh, and Anna. Second night in a row of seeing Anna: a first-ever occurance, I think! I had lots of fun flirting with Alex (yeah, it sounds weird, but if felt very natural). Enjoyed a very tasty smoothie, laughed at the conversation, marveled at Alex's book-in-progress... just generally had a good time.

Though Ian had people over for gaming, I decided to make a retreat to my bed and sleep. Got home somewhere around 1-1:30 and proceeded to crash out.

This morning I had nothing planned, but Yan invited me to tam-tams, and I wasn't going to pass that up. Despite living in Montreal for 23 years, I've never been to the tam-tams (I know, I know... bad Montrealer!). So I packed up my poi and grabbed the metro over to Mont Royal. Ran into Yan and Jessie (literally!) just outside the park. We headed up to the boffer fighters area, somewhat higher up the mountain from the main drummer's pit. We completely failed to meet Dude (excuse me, "Sir Matthew"), but I had fun spinning poi to Yan's tam-tam.

Then hunger set in and we headed over for sushi. Mmm... sushi. From thence, Jessie dropped Yan and I off near Ian's. I found a place where I could buy green tea ice cream (yum!), so with that latest craving in hand, we made our way over to the House of Sin. Ian was home, Yan was re-introduced to the addiction that is Champions of Norrath 2 (I'm so addicted!), we all had ice cream, and that was that. Ian went off for dinner, Yan went off for dinner... I went home.

And here I am. I've been playing on my computer, doing stuff that is of only moderate importance but that wastes a great deal of time, chatting on MSN... just relaxing. Tomorrow, I *am* the accounts payable department as my boss is on vacation. It's a lot less impressive than it sounds, actually. Since both he and the purchasing director are on vacation, there's not all that much I can do, since a lot of stuff needs at least one of their verifications. So... computer shall be coming with me to work tomorrow. I intend to be productive on personal stuff, if not work stuff.

And that's it. Off to bed shortly. G'night everyone!

From GB Shaw: "Forgive me for writing a long letter but I did not have time to write a short one."
