Dec. 21st, 2007

My goodness! Only one post in the last week! You'd think I'd disappeared or something.

Not to worry. Things are going quite well. I've finally recovered from my cold and asthma attack, and am back in the swing of things. I even started doing some karate drills at home, since I haven't really been to class lately and I don't want my sensei to see how much I've forgotten. 20 minutes a day yesterday and today, and I'll hopefully be able to keep that up.

I am officially registered for 3 courses at Concordia this upcoming semester (microeconomics, macroeconomics, and financial accounting), so we'll see how that goes. Classes start Jan. 3, and I'll be doing Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-5:30, with a two- and three-hour break, respectively. All-in-all, not a bad schedule. Now all I need to do is find a way to get some income during my non-school hours, and I'll be set.

I've been seeing friends, going to Christmas parties, and generally enjoying the heck out of December. Yesterday I played Mario Kart 64 for the first time in years, was tremendously disappointed with my complete loss of skillz, but if I had to lose skills anywhere, it might was well be on a game I play once every few years.

Oh, and my one-year anniversary with Marc is in 10 days. (Yes, that's New Year's Eve for those who are counting.) This thought makes me very happy.

And now, there is apple-cinnamon cake upstairs calling my name, and I must answer. Bye for now!
Ian and I saw I am Legend last week. All told, I liked the first half and not the second.

A more detailed, more engaging review follows behind here. Warning: detailed spoilers. And long. )
I mentioned earlier that yesterday and today I've been doing karate reviews and drills -- about 20 minutes per day. While I love the energy it gives me, I'm not liking the delayed-onset soreness in my legs. I'd forgotten how much kicking and holding low stances works on your legs.

Hopefully my body will adapt soon.

(C'mon, please, body?)
Rob had his Yule vigil tonight. He has two cats. I arrived just after 7:30. By 8:30, I desperately had to take my inhaler. By 9:00, I decided it was a lost cause:

Me: *gasping, wheezy noises* I need to go home.
Greg: Wow, you sound like you needed to have taken a Reactine.
Me: I did take a Reactine. And my inhaler a half-hour ago. *gasping, wheezy noises*
Greg: ... Oh.

So now my lungs and my legs hate me. Joyous.
