Not what I planned to be doing...
Dec. 19th, 2007 11:53 amYesterday was a lovely day to curl up with a good book and watch the snow fall outside my window.
Yesterday I could have easily been convinced to find the biggest snow pile I could, play until I couldn't feel my face or fingers anymore, and then return home to a mug of hot chocolate.
Yesterday would even have been an appropriate time to light a fire in the fireplace and snuggle.
Instead, I found myself driving. Let me be absolutely, unequivocally clear: yesterday was not a good day for driving. I might even be fair to say that yesterday was a downright shitty day for driving. It took about 30 minutes to get from NDG to downtown (des Pins and University). It took over two hours to get back.
Normally, I don't drive downtown. Period. But this was a favour for a friend who needed to make a doctor's appointment. Marc (whose car I was driving) actually got out and walked for a while, and needed to wait for us to catch up to him before he got back in the car. And that was after we got off the really slow street and were only going moderately slow. Ugh.
In any case, my evening was much better than my afternoon, involving shisha, good friends, and a really good drink called a "kookee." (And that's good enough for me.)
Now I must away to the library to return some overdue books, to the bank to cash a couple of checks that have been sitting in my wallet all week, and eventually to downtown to watch Avatar with Ian. The things I do with my life....
