I'll say this much: trying to run (or in my case, briskly walk) away from zombies when you're developing a head cold is a new and not altogether pleasant experience. At least I leveled-up some buildings.

Today's walk was both truncated and extended, which surprisingly made it about the same length as all my other walks. I woke up this morning with seriously congested sinuses, but since it was only in my nose and my throat, I decided to go walking anyway. This was partly because I really wanted to know what happened next, and partly because I ate a ton of food last night at seder and will be doing so again tonight, and I really needed to get moving a bit.

Anyway, today's mission involved running over to the university south of Abel to get Dr. Myers some fancy microscope. And while I might not have found that, I did find some sort of field research lab in the middle of the compound, with a box addressed to Dr. Myers herself. Turns out her friend Paula (possibly girlfriend) had worked at the university and was working on some sort of vaccine against the zombie virus. Turns out she left her research for her old friend. So now we're that much closer to having a working vaccine, which is to say, still very far away.

After that, Jack and Eugene came online with an impassioned plea for books 3-7 of the Harry Potter series (the daycare/school people finished reading books 1-2 to the kids and now don't hear the end of it), a bit of background on the new resurrection network recovery effort to bring back the internet (the new 'net is amusingly called "Rofflenet"), and some stories of greater and lesser entertainment value. I love those guys.

In any case, today's mission is highly replayable, and if I ever get to the point where I've played through all the missions and am waiting for the next update, I'll probably play this one again several times.

Back in the real world, at about the 25-minute my shin splints started coming back, and that combined with the head cold made me decide to cut my walk a bit short. Sadly, I also had to pick up some stuff from my local pharmacy, which is a few blocks out of the way of my walking circuit, so in the end it worked out to about 56 minutes of walking and a 10-minute break in between. Not bad, given the circumstances.

That's it for today. Just a short one because I'm falling asleep and might go take a nap. I wonder if Runner 5 takes naps. She totally should.

Hadn't realized this was a series until ZR mentioned you! :D

Also I don't know what the big deal is with calling it 'network resurrection.' At least they didn't say it was 'network reanimation.' ;)
