Four fire trucks with lights flashing are parked across the street. They don't seem to be rushing, though. I hope it's nothing serious.
(I wonder if I should get dressed, just in case we're evacuated.)
Edited to add: Looks like less than five minutes after they got here, they're leaving again. Maybe they got the wrong building? (How embarrassing!)

Date: 2010-03-21 03:04 pm (UTC)Most cities with large residential blocks have similar rules: better to send a bunch of trucks without hesitation than to let a situation get out of control because someone said "Oh, it's just burnt popcorn." Plus, every call-out is also a readiness test and training opportunity.
