Four fire trucks with lights flashing are parked across the street. They don't seem to be rushing, though. I hope it's nothing serious.
(I wonder if I should get dressed, just in case we're evacuated.)
Edited to add: Looks like less than five minutes after they got here, they're leaving again. Maybe they got the wrong building? (How embarrassing!)

Anyway, they're long gone now. Hopefully they were of service wherever they were needed.

Most cities with large residential blocks have similar rules: better to send a bunch of trucks without hesitation than to let a situation get out of control because someone said "Oh, it's just burnt popcorn." Plus, every call-out is also a readiness test and training opportunity.
