I started in on the one hundred pushups training program yesterday. Apparently, doing 41 pushups gives me delayed onset muscle soreness. Who'd a thunk it?
Hopefully it gets better by tomorrow, when I do day #2 of the training program!
Wow! I looked at that website the first time you posted it, thinking about trying it out myself. I can't even do one! Seriously, it's pathetic. I've been doing wall push-ups every now and again, and I just joined a gym so maybe I'll build up to one and then reconsider the program.
I'm doing the challenge w/ wall pushups! I'm on week three. I can now do two regular pushups... probably could have done more, but, my wrists were acting up.
Do the program doing whatever you *can* do. You WILL feel it, and, you will get stronger.
Have you tried doing on-the-knees push-ups? They're a lot easier than on-the-toes push-ups. I'm doing them on the toes because I used to be able to do lots of toe push-ups in high school and I want to get back to that, but I realize it's quite difficult for many women. I once read that, based on musculature, a woman uses proportionally the same amount of strength doing push-ups on her knees as a man does doing push-ups on his toes.
I'll let you know if I can feel my arms later this week, especially since I'm still planning on doing karate!
I'm pretty sure it was no go either way. I don't think I've ever been able to, I never was very athletic. But I might just start the program on wall push-ups, as suggested above.
