On a more productive note...

I realize that I've been griping a lot lately, and I apologize to the people who have needed to listen to me do it. That said, I thought it might be time to sit back and think about what I've done over the last few weeks:
- I've been writing weekly and monthly tips for the Motivation to Move newsletter. You can see them on the "Motivational Archives" page. All the stuff that's September and October 2007 was written by me. So far four of my small articles (125-150 words) and two larger ones (300 words) have been published and sent out to the ever-growing number of (paying) members, which I believe currently stands at several hundred, at least. I'm also a moderator on their forum, one of nine, and the most senior of the mods currently serving. I'm not getting paid for it (except in a complementary premium membership, about $20 a month), but it's very good exposure.
- I've planned and taught 15 of the 60 classes I will be teaching this semester. I may have a horrific textbook for a twice-weekly class, but I'm still making it work. I received excellent reviews on my evaluation, and one student sent in a feedback sheet essentially giving me the highest marks possible.
- I started reading again. In the two weeks, I've finished five books, and I have every intention of finishing another in the next day or two. It feels good to be reading again.
- I have begun researching a career path. Even if I don't wind up persuing accounting, I have at least proven yet again that I am very good at researching things.
- I finished the book of Deuteronomy in Daily Breadcrumbs. That means I've written approximately 88,000 words over the course of the last year, which is the size of an average book. It's also a milestone: I have finished the Pentateuch, which is almost a fifth of the Bible, or a quarter of the Old Testament. Daily Breadcrumbs is on a small hiatus as I focus on lesson planning and teaching, but I intend to continue the project.
Is there more I wish I'd been doing? Yes, of course. But this list at least shows me that my time hasn't been completely wasted.
