Yeah... I miss Marc. And not just a little, but a lot.

Less than 7 days until he's in town. I wonder if it should worry me that I'm now counting down by half-days.
We're in Ottawa. The situation: when we reserved the room in the hotel here in in Ottawa, they told us that all 1- and 2-bedroom suites had been renovated and no longer existed. Consequently, Ian and I booked two queen-bed rooms, preferably adjoining.

We arrived this morning. The adjoining rooms they were planning to put us in had not yet been vacated. The desk clerk looked for another set of adjoining rooms, eventually found a set, filled out the paperwork, and gave us our keys. I checked the contract: we're still paying the rate for two queen-bed rooms.

We go upstairs to our rooms. One room is a simple queen-bed room. The other is a suite: it's got a bedroom, kitchen (fully equiped with cutlery, pots and pans, stove / oven, fridge / freezer, etc.), and dining- and living-room area. In other words, it's one of the rooms they told us didn't exist. But they're still charging us the regular room price for it. Now, our rooms are pre-paid and non-refundable, so it's not like we can cancel one of them. And, since the price remains the same, I think we're all just going to enjoy our unexpected (but very pleasant) windfall.

But these are the sorts of room that someone must have booked. They're too nice not to be. And they probably paid more than we did. And you know that at some point later this morning, they're going to check in. And then our desk clerk is going to get chewed out by his boss. I feel only the slightest twinge of guilt at this.

Mostly, the only thing I can think is, "score!"

Mmmm....

There are few things as comfy or relaxing as having a baby fall asleep lying against your chest.

I just mention.
