1. I was apparently more tired than I thought.
2. The alarm clock in this room is set to a country music station.
3. The alarm clock only turns on for an hour of snooze-pressing.
4. I do not wake up to sunlight as automatically as I thought when I'm tired.
5. Bolted doors are a very decent barrier to passing between the adjoining rooms.
6. All the food is in the other room, on the other side of the bolted door.
Bonus #7. Cold bananas make Julie's mouth cold.

Okay, a more substantial update soon. Kristen and I are going down to the gym to try and get in some movement after eating badly and too much yesterday.
So... we've now been in Ottawa about 27 hours. Here's a recap of what we've done.

As I mentioned yesterday, Ian, Kristen, and I found ourselves in unexpectedly (but very pleasantly) spacious rooms. Shortly after arriving and unpacking (and having breakfast at the hotel restaurant), we were joined by Don, Alex, Ricky, Sarah, and baby Harly. We sat, we chilled, we chatted. It was nice and relaxing, and it was great to see the Ottawatonians again.

After a bit, Ricky went off to ferry Ian, Alex, and Don to pick up their tuxes, and the girls stayed behind at the rooms. Kristen eventually went off to nap, and I stayed and talked with Sarah and played with the baby. Baby got tired and fell asleep on my chest -- it was wonderfully relaxing. Shortly after that, though, the boys came back and Ricky and Sarah took the baby away from me. Bye, baby!

Those of us who remained (sans Alex) went over to Don's place to go swimming. Yay swimming! Not only did we go swimming, but we used the hot tub! Yay hot tubs! I admit I felt like I was being boiled towards the end, but it was muchly fun. Then Don's fiancée, Brenda, fed us a much-appreciated dinner.

From there, the wedding party went off for drinks and for the attendants to receive some gifts (Ian got an absolutely stunning tarot / oracle deck... Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle) while Kristen and I went into the Byward Market for milkshakes at Zaks. Yummy milkshakes. Tasty milkshakes!

Ian joined us just in time for all of us to head back to the hotel for drinks and relaxation. Eventually I fell into an exhausted sleep.

And now it's today. I've put in an hour of cardio and did some ab exercises, but otherwise haven't done much beyond catching up on the Motivation to Move forums, on which I am a moderator. Sooner or later, Kristen and I are going to go off to explore the Byward, and later than that is, of course, the wedding.

Consider yourselves informed. Cheers!
