Is that rust falling off the piano?
Mar. 26th, 2008 07:16 pmYes, my faithful readers, it's true: much to the chagrin of my housemates' ears, I had a yen to sit down at the piano again today. Understand that I haven't actually played the piano since I was about 13, and I wasn't particularly good at it then, either. Specifically, I wanted to play music from Aladdin. Why, I don't know. We had the sheet music (somewhere), and I remembered it as being fun to play.
I didn't remember how hard it was, mind you.
With over an hour of what I shall generously call "practising" (since I do truly and absolutely suck right now), I managed to get through 32 bars of "Friend Like Me," played horrifically badly. Thankfully, I was spared the worst of the effects, given that I was the one playing (I use the term broadly) and not listening.
In any event, I'm not sure if this will become a regular routine or if it's just a one-time thing, but it was a fun way to pass a few hours.
On the other hand, my pinky finger is *so* sore right now...
