The D&D Game With No Name

eveglassLast night's session saw Our Heroes (tm) investigate the mystery of the dead angel. As they say, the plot thickens. However, so had our inertia. Finding little of use in the village, we agreed to escort the villagers back to the nearest town, Messeney.
[Gorka'munda is giving a rousing speech to the villagers about how the party will protect them. Keep in mind that Gorka'munda is an orog -- half-orc, half-ogre.]
Colt: "I could knock him out really easily."
Baska: "No, no. This is entertaining."
[Many of the crops of the village have been burned, but some are still good.]
Bob the GM: "Do you eat vegetables?"
Andrew: "I eat rocks."
[Many of the houses of the village have been partially or wholly destroyed.]
Adam: "We search the house from top to bottom... if there is a top to this house."
[In the rubble of the destroyed basement of Own's house, Colt finds a pair of shoes with the feet still inside, ripped off at the ankles.]
Colt: "Own, do these look like your brother's shoes?"
Julie: "Please, please tell me you took the feet out first."
[We talk to the villagers to try to find out if there are any local legends of beings that might have killed an angel.]
Eric: "If there's a legend of a demi-lich, I say we leave."
[Ionos interrogates Own about what happened. Sadly, Own isn't very smart.]
Eric: "He's not going to know the answer to this, but I have to ask."
[We escort the villagers back to Messeney, the nearby town. Gorka'munda walks in front and sings loudly, making himself a target for any goblins or beasts on the road.]
Eric: "One mile down the road, you're attacked by a group of adventurers who hear the screaming orc."
[While we're trying to come up with some sort of plausible reason why Own's brother Amos may have summoned whatever killed the angel, we can't discount more mundane explanations.]
Sabina: "We're still not discounting 'raving psychopath.'"
[Neither Own nor the village elder Shohem remember there being a basement to Own's house, even though there is clearly one there.]
Julie: "So if I were a mysteriously appearing basement, where would I have come from?"
[As we walk through the forest, it is strangely silent.]
Gorka'munda: "First rule of hunting: no birds, attack coming soon."
Ionos: "I thought he first rule of hunting was 'pointy end in other guy.'"
Gorka'mudna: "Second first rule of hunting..."
[There's really only one reason why you would carry a hand-crossbow.]
Julie: "Baska has the crossbow for self-defense."
Eric: "Preemptive self-defense."
[We're attacked by a group of 30 goblins.]
Bob the GM: "One gobbo gets lucky and hits Gorka'munda in the leg."
Andrew: "I'm very impressed. He dies next."
[It is highly unusual for a group of goblins to attack so large a caravan.]
Eric: "First, I attempt to disbelieve the illusory goblins."
Bob the GM: "They continue to exist."
[Sabina rolls poorly on her attack and fails to kill a goblin that attacked her.]
Eric: "This goblin has to survive the fight and come back as a recurring villain."
That's it for this week. As Our Heroes (tm) settle the villagers down to a night's sleep, with absolutely none of our questions answered, we can only hope that next week will be more edifying. Or at least provide an equally rich source of quotes.
