Buckle Those Swashes 2.0

Last night, Our Heroes (tm) managed to successfully rescue Marietta from the hands of her Eisen kidnappers, just as they were about to enter the Dark Forest. Which is good in that they didn't need to travel through the Dark Forest, but bad in that now I may never know why my character's blood can kill trees.
[Our Heroes are riding long and hard to catch Marietta's kidnappers. Sir Breanan is used to long-distance riding. Gérard, not so much.]
Gérard: "I swallow my pain."
Breanan: "Excellent! Like a true man!"
Gérard: "I'm not talking to you. You annoy me."
[Our Heroes discover that Marietta's kidnappers stopped in a village just long enough to switch to fresh horses. The chances of catching them are rapidly diminishing.]
André: "Is there no way to find their final destination?"
Natalia: "Sorté doesn't work that way. My connection is with Marietta, and she doesn't know where she's going."
André: "What about just asking in the village?"
Kyn the GM: "...They all blink."
[Gérard attempts to defend the honor of his sworn bethren.]
Gérard: "Musketeers are not knights. We are justice where there is none."
André: "So it is only in Montaigne that there is no justice?"
[Gérard is walking bow-legged and painfully after his long ride.]
Breanan: "He walks like every 12-year-old boy in Avalon.... Wait, that came out wrong."
[Abbot André attempts to talk to the head kidnapper's horse to get him to ride home.]
André: "Go! Go to your master!"
Horse: "Master will come!"
André: "...This is unexpected."
[Our Heroes head off the kidnappers before they can reach the northern pass through the mountains. The only way to reach Eisen is through the Dark Forest, which is full of horrible monsters.]
Breanan: "If Theus is with us, we'll reach them before they get to the Dark Forest. If not, we have a priest with us."
Julie: "That won't help you when you run into the werewolves."
[André has taken the form of a raven and is trying to communicate with Marietta. She fails to understand him.]
André (cawing): "Stall! Stall!"
Pat: "You can tell we're at the edge of the Dark Forest. You can almost understand the birds."
[Gérard did not follow the normal path to becoming a Musketeer, and thus lacks some of their basic training.]
Gérard: "You have the finest muskets in the world at your back! I am not one of them..."
[Breanan gets into an argument with one of the Musketeers Gérard has called to help find Marietta.]
Breanan: "Are you calling me a pig?"
Musketeer: "No, I said you rut with pigs. So I'm calling your wife a pig."
Breanan: "I don't have a wife!"
Musketeer: "..."
Ian: "I'm not sure who won that one."
[Our Heroes arrange for a daring rescue of Marietta, involving a pack of exploding gunpowder as a diversion. Gérard rushes in to occupy Marietta's captor.]
Gérard (to Marietta): "Move quickly!"
Marietta: "I have a broken leg!"
Gérard: "Then move quickly on your broken leg!"
[Our Heroes are slowly winnowing down the pool of Eisen kidnappers. Sadly, Gérard is having a tough time dealing with Captain Erich.]
Ian: "Double-team him with the Avalonian!"
Kyn the GM: "The Avalonian still has to take out the two Eisen on him."
Ian: "Not if Erich falls on them."
[Gérard holds a dagger to Captain Erich's throat.]
Gérard: "If you have any final words, now is the time."
Julie: "He doesn't speak Montaignais."
[7th Sea is a game of daring, yes. But sometimes you have to know your limits. This is apparently not one of those times.]
Ian: "Oh, that's a really bad idea when you have no ride and only one finesse... Let's go for it!"
[Marietta and Abbot André escape on horseback, but Captain Erich chases them. Gérard lines up a musket shot at the retreating captain, but misses.]
Marc: "Somehow shooting a man in the back of the head while he's running away is not where I want to spend my drama dice."
[Marietta and André continue to be chased by Captain Erich, while Breanan and Gérard have taken out the rest of the Eisen kidnappers.]
Kyn the GM (to Marc): "I'm just trying to end the scene with them so I can get back to killing you guys."
[Abbot André has convinced the only female Eisen kidnapper, Hilde, to protect Marietta despite their retreat. Captain Erich continues his pursuit.]
Kyn the GM: "You made her fight her lover, you monster."
Julie: "I didn't do that. That was Ian. I was just gonna shoot her."
[Just as things are beginning to die down, we're attacked by kobolds from the Dark Forest. Breanan and Gérard kill four of the six in the initial onslaught, and two return back to the forest.]
Gérard: "I get the feeling we should not let them get away."
Breanan: "You're right. You should not let them get away."
[The kobolds descend upon Marietta, André, Captain Erich, and Hilde.]
Kyn the GM (to Julie): "They're the scariest thing you've ever seen."
Hilde: "Thank Theus! They're only children!"
And that's it for this week. Join us next time, when I will sadly not find out the answers I've been looking for, though I'll probably discover more questions. Oh, well! At least there will be swashbuckling!
