At least for the moment, we’re keeping it student / mentor instead of apprentice / laurel, and we’ll feel our way into the specifics.

First off, congratulations. Rare indeed are the times I've walked away from a chat with Marian without having learning something new or being inspired in wonderful ways.

What do you see as the distinction between a student and an apprentice?

An apprentice relationship is more formal, I think. I know that for Ernst, as his students, we're very loose about the relationship. I enjoy spending time with him, I use him for guidance, and I know he's there for me. But his proteges actually get quests and things, which I have no desire for. I have no idea the logistical differences between student and apprentice when it comes to Mistress Marian, but I do consider being an apprentice both more formal and more public than just being a student.
