A plan!

Yesterday I discovered that most all of my work pants are too small. I bought them two years and fifteen pounds ago. So in an attempt to lose some weight, I've decided to try walking into work. According to Google Maps, it's a 61-minute walk. I'm leaving the house early today, just to make sure that Google's right about the timing, which is why I woke up at 6:30. (Boo! Hiss!) At least it's not still dark at 6:30 a.m.

The consequence of this is that I'm going to wear sneakers and sweat-pants on the walk and change when I get into the office. My work pants and work shoes are just not gonna survive an hour-long walk every day. Hopefully no one minds when I get to work. I'd go straight to the bathroom, but the key is in the office, so I'll have to at least say hello to people in less-than-professional clothing. They're intelligent people; they'll understand. (I hope.)

Edited to add: Total walking time - 53 minutes. Total time to change and make myself presentable - 13 minutes. Right now, there's only one other person in the office with me, so I thankfully wasn't late. I can probably afford to leave 10 minutes later on Monday.

I've worked at a bunch of places where people would show up in skintight biking clothes, helmets, and cleated shoes that lock into their bike pedals before changing into business suits. The trick is to be sure the clothes you're wearing are so outlandish they're clearly exercise gear at a casual glance and not something you plan to wear all day.
