Walking to the library, I noticed that the air was beginning to get cooler and there were stormclouds off in the distance, but still pretty far off.

Obviously not far off enough.

On the way back, about halfway home, the sky exploded. In about 6 minutes, I was drenched completely through.

I take this as a sign from God that I should get into my bathrobe and spend the rest of the day reading with a nice cup of tea. I was planning on going to karate later, but we'll see if it's still raining.

I have never before seen the colors on a radar that were used to describe that storm. There's another line about 3-4 hours behind them, still around Rochester. I was just glad they kept scooting north while moving east, so they missed us by a couple counties.

We missed that first line--they slipped north--and the second one--it slipped south. The ?third? finally hit, with two brief but enthusiastic storms about two hours apart, with hail...

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (?) (NOAA), which I rely on for my weather, color codes things for watches, warnings, etc. Today looked sort of like a seventies disco shirt...PINKorangeREDgreenPINKER...

Apparently there's a front right now that's (mostly) passing south of us. Unfortunately, I can't go all the way back to 2:30, when I got soaked.
