Work-Related
Good news: It's Friday, and I don't have to work until Wednesday!

Bad news: Towards the end of the day, I was rushing to get home and got sloppy, resulting in some mistakes at work I really shouldn't have made. (Despite this being only my second day out of training.)

Good news: It's Friday, and I don't have to work until Wednesday!

Bad news: I left my lunch box at work.

Computer-Related
Good news: I got my new computer today! Yay!

Bad news: I won't have time to set it up until Tuesday, because I'm going to an SCA event this weekend.

Good news: It'll still be there when I get back.

SCA-Related
Bad news: I didn't get a chance to go to the bank to change my money into US currency.

Good news: I discovered US$150 left over from last Pennsic.

Bad news: I won't have time to set up my tent probably until after court tomorrow.

Good news: Toki has suggested people in his camp might do it for me.

Bad news: I don't want to spend time food-shopping on my way to the event, and I'm not sure what food I can take across the border.

Good news: There's a tavern at the event, and Toki has promised me I won't go hungry.

Now, onwards to packing.

One of the Major Domo's job is to make sure retainers don't starve. ;)

Also, I can probably get that tent set up, too.

(Notice, I did not say "erected.")

Hehehehe.

So noted. And many thanks.

The plan is to arrive just as the bardic competition is starting, do the fastest changing job ever, go to the competition, retain from 4 until whenever court is over... and then set up my tent and have dinner. People setting up the actual tent and tossing my stuff into it would make my life muchly easier come post-court time.

I'm camping with Vestfell, by the way (Toki's household).

For the record, you can take anything that's not meat or produce across the border. So crackers, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, granola bars, cookies, etc. are all fine. Just don't try to bring a ham or a bag of oranges. And honestly the odds of your car being searched are slim. I've smuggled bags of apples across more than once.

Fair enough. And I *will* be bringing snacks for the road. But I've had my car searched before (only once or twice, mind you) and don't really feel like going through it again.

On the other hand, I've got plenty of people who have promised to keep me fed this weekend, and I've got enough money to pay for meals at the "tavern" even if they didn't. So all is well.

I just don't like carting down coolers and stuff, anyway.
