For those wondering what happened to last week's "back to school" post... reading week (and job hunting) ate my brain.

The last two weeks have been filled with a lot of work, but almost none of it has been related to school. I've had two job interviews and one set of pre-interview testing, and I did some career counselling (testing and follow-up appointment). I've been working very hard on Daily Breadcrumbs as well. Oh, and I've been sick this week. It always has to happen when I should be enjoying myself.

In all honesty, I seem to have lost my motivation these past two weeks. Despite handing in the two small assignments that were due, I let my schoolwork slide a lot. I am grateful that I'm doing 200-level classes, which means that a good day or two of work has put me mostly back on track. I'd never have been able to catch up if I let two weeks of grad school work slide, I can assure you.

I have three midterms coming up in the next two weeks: next Thursday (macroeconomics), next Sunday (accounting), and the following Thursday (microeconomics). I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to them (especially since the Sunday one is from 5-8 pm -- ick!), but I'm relatively certain I'm ready. Or at least, a day or two of review will make me ready. Have I mentioned that the workload in 200-level classes is ridiculously light?

As a note to my loyal readers: the "back to school" posts may become a moot point in the near future. Last week, I interviewed for a job as a replacement teacher in Dawson's humanities department. If they hire me, it'll conflict with at least one class (microeconomics) and possibly another (macroeconomics). In that case, I'd have to drop at least one of those classes. It will also conflict with my scheduled hours at the learning centre, my only paid employment for the next 10 weeks. I'm half-hoping that Dawson just tells me they chose someone else and saves me the trouble of conflict, but that's just nerves talking.

Next week is shaping up to be particularly busy:
- a funeral in Ontario on Monday (family of family, no one I know personally)
- class all day Tuesday (maybe followed by karate)
- working at Dawson's learning centre Wednesday afternoon
- class all day Thursday (maybe followed by karate) -- including a midterm
- possibly helping Ian out during the day Friday, possibly followed by gaming at night
- local SCA event Saturday
- accounting midterm Sunday night

Whew! I'm getting tired just thinking about it! And that's not counting time I want to spend with friends, time spent on homework and preparing for the midterms, etc.

Okay, that's it for now. Back to studying for me.
