And then there were five (hours a week)

Two ESL annoyances:
1. My class today was supposed to have 3 students. Ten minutes into class -- no students. One popped his head to tell me there had been an emergency and he hoped to be back in 15 minutes. Twenty minutes in class, neither of the other two had shown up, and the frazzled student returned. I gently suggested that if the emergency was still going on, we could simply cancel class today and pick up on Wednesday. I didn't need to suggest it twice; he was out of there faster than chocolate disappears in my house.
Of course, about 2 minutes later, another student showed up. She, too, was in the middle of twenty thousand things, so we did some light conversation for 30 minutes while she ate lunch and then she, too, left. I didn't even touch my planned lesson. Here's hoping Wednesday goes more smoothly.
2. One of my classes has been officially cancelled, bringing my total hours per week down to 5. I wish I'd known this a few weeks ago, as I could have arranged my schedule to only be working two days a week instead of the current four.
In any event, I dropped off my CV to Ranstad and Quantum today, and I have an appointment at Ranstad on Friday.
