1. When writing up my report from the weekend, I forgot to mention that one of my performances made someone cry. While I realize music had that kind of power, I never realized my music was that powerful. It was shocking to me, honestly, and also (in a weird way) a huge ego boost. It means that I'm doing something right in terms of my bardic. I already knew that I could rev people up with energy, but to know that I can touch other emotions (at least sometimes, for at least a few people) is gratifying.

For the record, the song in question was "The Peasant Knight" by Rosalind of Paradox Keep.

2. Another nail in the cegep teaching coffin: I went to Dawson today and spent some time chatting with Liberal Arts professors, mostly just offering my support. There were 4-5 professors in a group, all but one of whom I'd been in contact with in recent months. The one who hadn't seen me since my Dawson days obviously did not recognize me. Looking at me with a perfectly straight face, he asked, "so, are you a first-year student?"

... Sigh.

3. I watched two hours of television tonight. I suddenly remember why I no longer watch television.

4. Gnawing on cinnamon sticks is a decent substitute for chewing gum (which I hate), but leaves the tip of my tongue numb. More experimentation is required.

5. Tomorrow is "International Talk Like a Pirate Day." Consider yourselves informed. AHHRRR!

OK, how many thousand young faces pass through his classes. Still it is hard to see him forgetting you...

A thought for you. You have an amazing repetoire of filks. How are you on actual period bardic pieces. Yes I know the drunken minions would not have appreciated them as much. Still Anne of Framlingham is only a little bigger than you and I have seen her bring a hall to silence while reciting Beowulf or a viking saga. I think you could do the same.

Ohh, and Arrrggghhhhh!

Extremely poor. It's one of the things I need to work on.

Never been a fan of licorice, myself. Does raw licorice actually taste like the candy licorice?

no, it's a bit milder (depending on how much you put in your mouth at once) and not terribly sweet. it also makes nice tea.

"T' Peasant Knight" has an incredible power behind it. You aren't t' first t' brin' someone t' tears with it. Not t' belittle your performance, just t' opposite actually. Think o' it as havin' a huge latent power that not just any lubber can use, an' only through a performance strong enough t' weild it does your audience feel any o' that. Good job, me beauty. :)

Thank'e, m'lass. I never claimed I had the ability to *write* a song as could bring land-lubbers to the edge of tears. I was just revelling in my ability to do it with the words someone else had writ.
