Morning update -- the unemployment epidemic

Somehow, it seems that many of my friends have recently found themselves unemployed. Someone, I no longer remember who, said that you become the people you hang out with. So, for example, if you want to get married, you should spend time with married people. If you want to be a great athlete, you should spend time with great athletes. And, in my case, if I want to be employed as a teacher or an editor, I should spend time with teachers and editors. Obviously, this doesn't mean that I'm going to stop spending time with my friends. What it does mean is that I've got to try to make some contacts in the fields I wish to work. And that, in a nutshell, is how I'm going to approach my job-hunt from here on in. The job-hunt is now geared towards meeting as many people in my chosen fields as possible. Sooner or later, it will reach critical mass, and I'll find myself with a job. Or at least, so I hope.

In other news, plans for Ian's new LARP are progressing. I've volunteered to write up a bunch of short stories to portray the feel of the game. I've brainstormed 9 or 10, and that only gets us up to the 17th century... it'll be fun.

In completely unrelated news, I've got a new link: Three Bears Norse. Yes, my friends, it's Goldilocks and the Three Bears, told in Norse-style verse. Fiana, we can add this to our list of fairy tales retold in period format. *grin*

joining the editors assosiation will help a fair bit, they have regular meeting and the what not , great place to network.
