Tonight's line of the night (featured as the subject of this entry) is brought to you by Rich. A close runner-up is the line that elicited it, "same price, twice the size."
Tonight was thoroughly enjoyable. It began with karate, which was excellent as usual. Before class started, I did some kata and kihon drills with a blue-belt (Gerard). He moves fast! It was a good challenge for me to try to keep up. And, after 10-15 minutes, I was all sweaty... even before class started! Class itself was good too, involving ippon kumites with another yellow belt and teaching a white belt the basics of seisa, mokso, and the salutes.
Tonight's ippon kumites (responses to two- and three-punch attacks):
1. (open stance) jodan-age-uke, soto-uke, gidan-barai (all front arm), mae-kekomi (back leg, return to back), gyaku-suki.
2. (open stance) jodan-age-uke, soto-uke, gidan-barai (all front arm), mae-kekomi (back leg, palce in front), empi-uchi (as #4 in empi kihon no kata).
3. (closed stance) morote-uke, gidan-barai (front arm), mae-ashi-keage (front leg, return to front), gyaku-suki.
After that, it was off to Girourd park to watch some fencing, dance some dances (sans music), and sing some bardicky songs. Everyone (about 15 people!) then proceeded over to Double Pizza, wherein much pizza was consumed, and many inuendos pronounced. Then onwards to home.
Oh, and one more thing: having met
tygrbabe this past weekend, I decided to stop by Blue Monday before karate. I picked up a sandwich and a brownie. The sandwich was decent, the brownie was divine. Go, my minions, and buy Blue Monday brownies! Bask in their yumminess!
Right... I might be just a wee bit tired. Off to bed with me.
