Convocation

Okay... so I now officially have a shiny piece of paper saying that I am a Master of Arts. They even spelt my name right. The ceremony was... well, about what you'd expect from a convocation. Lots of sitting around punctuated with 10 seconds on the stage. The highlight of the ceremony was the following quote, from the honorary PhD recipient:
"Being the speaker at a convocation is like being the corpse at an Irish wake. They need you to hold the party, but they don't expect you to say very much."
It was funny at the time, anyway. As was the accent of the chancellor: all I could think of was the priest from Princess Bride. ("Wuv... twue wuv... is what bwings us heaw todae...")
And now it's over. I'm getting together with
acrabtree this afternoon, but have no plans for the evening. Any Torontonians want to get together?
