Plans for my unemployment
Apr. 10th, 2010 01:52 pmYup, after just over a month working at a Zionist think-tank, I'm unemployed again. But that's okay. It means I'm almost certainly going to Pennsic (yay!), and I've got a chance to really make the most of my time. I was even foresightful enough to plan out a schedule for myself that I can use, since no one's forcing me to be at an office at a given time. For everyone who's asked me, "What are you planning on doing now?", here's a brief list of some of the projects I'd like to accomplish over the next few months:
SCA / Pennsic related:
- Cut and sew three apron-dresses
- String bead necklaces
- Prepare new short bardic pieces (ideally at least six)
- Redo my bardic "request sheet"
Non-SCA related
- Finish scanning in all my old birthday cards
- Finish reading the Old Testament (possibly also the New Testament)
- Find a way to get paid for my writing
- Continue teaching myself how to cook
- Take an art class (I'm looking at Drawing I, Monday or Tuesday afternoon)
- Continue doing lots of reading, writing, and roleplaying (the new "Three Rs"!)
- Maybe do some volunteering or temporary work, depending on what I can find
- Maybe go back to karate or find a new dojo
I think that's a pretty decent start. It'll keep me busy for a few months, at least. And if I can find a way to get some income that doesn't involve my being an office 40 hours a week, that would be great too. If anyone feels like getting together for coffee, I've got tons of time on my hands!
