4.5 hours of overtime. Got home around 11 pm. On the other hand, that means that I can theoretically leave work a couple hours early later this week if production allows for it.

In the end, it was my fault. If I'd realized the file would take as long as it did, I'm sure my coordinators wouldn't have had a problem letting me carry it over to today. I'm just not allowed to make that call on my own, because as an editor, I don't have all the information in terms of production needs.

Ah, well. We live, we learn. It's a heck of a way to spend your first day back from Pennsic, though.
Our coordinator felt really bad that I had to stay so late last night, and has offered me the option of working a half-day today to take back the hours. So I'm gonna do that and do a bunch of Pennsic wrap-up and apartment hunting this afternoon.

So... yay!

In completely unrelated news: It seems that my body got used to drinking a lot of water at Pennsic. I haven't been for the last two days, and today it really rebelled and shouted at me, "Drink more water!" Which is odd, but helpful, I suppose. Any other Pennsic-goers experience the same thing?
It's all transcribed and it looks like the final word count is right around 17,000. All I have to do is edit it, put in the HTML tags, and upload it. But I think I'll do that tomorrow.

17,000 words in 14 days, or an average of 1,200 words a day. Not too shabby, given that I was writing longhand!
