A morning grab-bag of links
Feb. 1st, 2008 09:29 amFirst, many many thanks to the people who posted cooking ideas yesterday. I really appreciate your help!
Next, I'm still sick. It's gotten worse since yesterday, but I blame that on lack of sleep. While I very much appreciated spending some time with Marc, perhaps 2 am was not the best time for it. (On the other hand, he was at work until 11:30 and then needed to drive his brother somewhere, so we couldn't have really done it earlier.)
So instead of posting any content, I'll just empty my "to post on LJ" folder of links. Enjoy!
- Simple stretches you can do at your desk from Dumb Little Man. The only thing this post lacks is pictures of the stretches, but you can get a pretty good idea.
- Simply said... how to blog, also from Dumb Little Man. A whole bunch of really practical tips and links for people in the blogosphere.
- 50 things I've learned in 50 years by Eric Zorn. Some are thoughtful, some are pithy, some are just generally good advice.
- The movie director's guide to effective teaching. Among the other useful gems: you remember 20% of what you hear, but 70% of what you discuss, and 95% of what you teach. Is it any wonder people do so poorly in traditional classrooms?
- The years are short (links to a video). A wonderful little 1-2 minute video by Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project. Recommended for anyone who has kids, wants kids, or wants to remember to live in the moment.
- Everything I know about environmentalism, I learned from Star Wars. A mix of sci-fi and sustainability, how could you go wrong?
And that, as they say, is that. Cheers!
