Some of you may know that Marc has been having knee problems lately. This is the result of an injury he had 5-6 years ago. Long story short, his knee locked up about a week and a half ago, and he wasn't able to straighten it. He had an appointment with an orthopedist yesterday who looked at his x-rays and said, "there's a bone chip lodged in your knee and I want to operate on it."
Today was the operation. They took out a bone chip (covered in cartiledge) about 1.7 cm wide -- I've seen it; the thing's huge! (Marc got to keep it -- I think he wants to make a necklace out of it.)
He's doing fine and amazingly mobile on crutches. Apparently it's about 2 weeks to partial mobility / recovery, and another 2-4 weeks for full mobility / recovery. We're just both happy that the damned thing's out and he can extend his leg again.
And now, to bed.
