No more sleep?

Today's breadcrumb is about who actually built the tabernacle.

So, the good news is that I had a great time yesterday. Ian got a bunch of us today (essentially, the old Giovanni Chronicles crowd, minus Eric, and replacing Kimmy with Sam) to start up a pseudo-Firefly game. (Firefly universe, but: 1. the war is still going on, 2. there are alien races, loosely based on changeling kiths, and 3. there are cybernetics and psionics, as per Trinity) Character creation was interactive and great, and the one-hour initial session had me talking in Firefly dialect for the rest of the evening.

Marc crashed over, this was good too.

On the other hand, I didn't sleep very well. When Marc left to go have breakfast with his dad, I snuggled up with my teddy bear for another hour of shut-eye, and that was somewhat better.

Now I've got 2 hours to get ready for my class and head out. Thank goodness I've already mostly got something in mind for the class today.

The gratitude journal

I recently heard about this idea, and it seems like something fun to do. Essentially, every day between now and the end of the month (possibly longer), I'm going to post at least 5 things I am grateful for. Today being the first day, I'm going to kick it off with a double-header and post ten. Some things may repeat from day-to-day, but I'll try to have something new every day.

If people don't want to read about this, let me know and I'll put it behind a friends' filter. If you want to read it, let me know as well, and I'll keep it public. If you're indifferent, don't post anything. Just keep in mind that you've had your chance to voice your opinion -- no complaining to me later than you're tired of reading these things. *grin*

So... today I am grateful for:

1. I am grateful for friends and acquaintances who give me good advice about hard life choices.
2. I am grateful for enthusiastic students who enjoy the courses I teach.
3. I am grateful for Sally, who provided the link to The Secret on some forums I moderate.
4. I am grateful for my mom, who is a wonderful support to me and lets me live at home.
5. I am grateful for my boyfriend, who always makes me feel special.
6. I am grateful for creative roleplaying buddies and an awesome GM, who joined me in having an awesome time last night.
7. I am grateful for The Princess Bride, which I caught a snippet of last night. It never ceases to make me laugh.
8. I am grateful for my teddy bear. Because teddy bears need love, too.
9. I am grateful for my ipod and podcasts, because now I can listen to new music anywhere I want.
10. I am grateful for tea, because it is so tasty and calming.
