Today's breadcrumb is about who actually built the tabernacle.

So, the good news is that I had a great time yesterday. Ian got a bunch of us today (essentially, the old Giovanni Chronicles crowd, minus Eric, and replacing Kimmy with Sam) to start up a pseudo-Firefly game. (Firefly universe, but: 1. the war is still going on, 2. there are alien races, loosely based on changeling kiths, and 3. there are cybernetics and psionics, as per Trinity) Character creation was interactive and great, and the one-hour initial session had me talking in Firefly dialect for the rest of the evening.

Here's the cast of characters so far, recently abord the Firefly-class ship Titan:

Captain "J.J." Jonah Jameson (Ian's NPC): A boggan-like alien who has a decent amount of presence despite his small size. Claims to be neutral between the Browncoats and Purple Bellies. Before taking on the player characters, he had no crew but himself, raising eyebrows amongst some of us.

Sergeant Duncan (Rob): A none-too-bright Browncoat soldier, currently serving away from the main fronts. A passable mechanic and pilot, though mostly just a gunslinger. Accompanying him is his trusty canine companion.

Jacob [last name forgotten] (Jeff): The ship's pilot and engineer. Not much good in a fight, but he'll get your ship into the sky and keep her there.

Elijah (Marc): A hired gun for the ship with a crude, early-gen cybernetic eye. Unbeknownst to the rest of us, also a wanted murderer with a hair-trigger temper. Accompanied by a surprisingly intelligent St. Bernard.

Kim Sparrow (Julie): A veteran Browncoat combat medic. She used to be known as "Kim Carpenter," a fairly renowned painter, but according to Alliance records, she was killed in combat, and Kim has no desire to correct their impression. For the time being, aboard the Titan as a passenger, and hopes not be be needed as a medic.

John Rickon (Sam): An ex-Alliance agent, currently being hunted by his former compatriots. As far as anyone on the ship is concerned, he's just a wealthy passenger. (Think "Simon" from the first Firefly episode.)

Marc crashed over, this was good too.

On the other hand, I didn't sleep very well. When Marc left to go have breakfast with his dad, I snuggled up with my teddy bear for another hour of shut-eye, and that was somewhat better.

Now I've got 2 hours to get ready for my class and head out. Thank goodness I've already mostly got something in mind for the class today.

TTFN.
