Good news / bad news
Jul. 14th, 2005 10:02 amThe bad news: I went to see an ear, nose, and throat doctor this morning to ask him why I have such a shitty sense of smell. He told me, 1) that I have a deviated septum, and 2) that I need a CT scan. My mom (who I love but who is sometimes a bit too eager for her own good) scheduled one for me on Monday. BEST case scenario: my upper sinuses are blocked and they can do surgery (joy.) to unblock them and hopefully let me smell. I didn't ask what the less-than-best-case scenarios were.
Edited, 4:45 pm, to add: I got home and found that my ever-so-helpful mother has not only scheduled the CT scan for me, but also an allergy test and another appointment with the ENT for me. Joy. Have I mentioned I don't particularly like doctors?
The good news: the stress caused by waiting to have the appointment (I don't really like doctors) stirred up my creative juices and I wrote a song in the meantime, "The Ballad of the Lost Bear." It's based on the true story of
warmbear (RJ) getting lost in the woods one event. I'm typing it up to send it to the members of House Broken Axe now.
So that's my day so far. Don's coming in today, and I'm hoping to see him. Yay for seeing long-lost friends!
