Response to newspaper stupidity
Dec. 27th, 2004 01:54 pmIt's been a few weeks, but it's time for another RNS! This letter to the editor is, yet again, about same-sex marriage. (My, but people write a lot of stupidity on this subject!) This will be a short and rather well-known argument, but it must be said anyway. The Gazette, Dec. 27, 2004, letters to the editor (A30), letter by Christos Tsironis, "No kids, no plums"
Since same-sex unions do not produce offspring to support us in our old age and populate our shrinking society, I would say a just law should recognize same-sex marriage as such, but without the financial benefits of traditional marriage. I would then be curious to see how many men marry men and women, women.
( See my rant. )
I wish people would realize that children are not the only purpose of a marriage!
