Thinking about GPAs...
Dec. 24th, 2004 11:41 amI'm graduating next semester. Yay. The issue that's been grating on me lately is what status I will graduate with. You see, at Concordia a 3.40 GPA gives you a degree "with distinction," and a 4.00 GPA gives you a degree "with great distinction." After this past semester, my cumulative GPA is 3.99. However, to boost it up to 4.00 will require me to get three As and one A+ next semester. Just As is not going to cut it, and I can't have a single A- (unless the A+ is in my 6-credit class, in which case I can have one A-).
This is obnoxious, because I'm not sure I can do it. The difference between an A and an A+ is subtle, and many profs in my programs don't actually give any A+s at all. I'll just feel really annoyed if I miss the cutoff for "with great distinction" by 0.01 or 0.02. That would be tremendously annoying.
Ah well. Enough ranting. Happy holidays, everyone!
