Another good day

Yes, despite the massive workload I'd set for myself today, I was actually quite productive. Of the list I posted last night, I proritized 7 things as the most important, and managed to do 6 of them. This involved about two hours of Latin, and article-gathering and note-taking for about a half-dozen articles. All told, I'm pleased.
Tonight was also Tea Hut at Massey (ie: a talent show). Also fun, and my piece was received well, especially by its subject. For thsoe curious, I'll post it here.
The background: At the last talent night at Massey, I sang two filked songs about the Master of the College. As I got up to sing, someone from the back of the room shouted, "Marry me, Julie!" I kind of brushed it off at the time, not knowing either who had shouted it (it was dark in the audience) or how to deal with the interruption to my patter.
I found out later that the would-be proposer was a man named Juan, also a junior fellow. He's a great guy, from Mexico, doing an M.A. in law (he's already a practicing lawyer), on the varsity volleyball team, and a great salsa dancer. Also, he is increadibly tall. I point you to a picture of us as exhibit A. (He's the taller of the two guys.)
Anyway, I couldn't let such a prosposal pass unremarked, so I wrote this song about it.
The Star of Ontaatje Hall
by Julie Golick
to the tune of "The Star of the County Down"
At the Winter Ball in Ondaatje Hall,
One cold winter Saturday,
I saw such a sight in a giant's height,
And he smiled as he passed my way.
I said, said I, to a passerby,
"Won't you tell me what he is called?"
He smiled at me, said, "it's Juan-Luis,
He's the star of Ondaatje Hall."
Then he took the floor, and I wanted more
As he danced with a salsa flair,
When he spun me round, and I heard the sound
Of his sweet Spanish voice so rare.
The song was done, and my heart went numb,
When I thought that he'd leave that night,
But he kissed my cheek, and my knees grew weak,
For the man with the giant's height.
Chorus:
From morning's light to the dead of night
And from Gaudy to Winter Ball,
There's none I want but my dear, sweet Juan,
He's the star of Ondaatje Hall.
He's a sporting man, and he draws the fans
Whenever he takes the court,
And I thought that he would be good to me
If I wanted to learn the sport.
I pulled him near, and I asked him, "Dear,
Would you show me your volleyball?"
He lobbed it high, and my heart flew by
For the star of Ondaatje Hall.
Chorus
At the talent fair, he'll be surely there,
So I'll gingerly take the stage,
With a smile so bright, and my eyes alight,
To be sure that he meets my gaze.
My voice might break and my knees might shake
But I'll wait 'till I hear his call,
I'll stay and sing 'till I wear the ring,
Of the star of Ondaatje Hall.
Chorus
And that's it for tonight, folks. It's my bedtime and thus I go to bed. Tomorrow I'm playing D&D and then probably heading over the House of Cheese for tasty food. Yum! G'night all!
