The things you miss by not having a TV

Are there any Canadians in the audience? Yes? Then you must know that it's Roll Up the Rim to Win! time. I, alas, did not know this until today. No funky commercials to inform me of the fact, you see. I was made aware that it was "That Time of Year" by seeing two discarded (apparently non-winning) cups on the ground as I was walking to class today. As I saw them, I made myself a solemn vow that if I accomplished my work for the day (consisting of 70 pages of reading and 1 page of Latin), I would get myself a cup of Tim's and tempt the Rim Gods.
The plan took longer to enact than expected. Over the course of the afternoon, I met with a professor to discuss paper topics, attended a lecture about William of Conches (who did not get tried for heresy, but probably should have), and ate free food at the reception after the lecture (sushi! score!). By the time I arrived home and had dinner, it was 7:15, and by the time I was done all the work, it was 9:45.
Once my brain had settled, I was faced with a conundrum of epic proportions. On the one hand, I really wanted Tims, and I'd promised it to myself, and I had even done all my work. I wanted it to be mine, precious! On the other hand, I did not want to go out into the cold, even for the scant five-minute walk it would take to cross the three blocks to the nearest Tims. In the end, though, my desire for Roll Up the Rim prevailed, and off I went.
And now I am back with raspberry tea. I do not yet know if any Nifty Rim Prizes (tm) are contained in the hidden folds of my cup, because I make it a personal policy not to de-rim a cup until after I have drunk the beverage it contains (lest I skald myself in the ensuing excitement). I assure you, you'll be the first to know if I win the car.
Edited 10:36 pm: Alas, I did not win the car. Or anything else. Perhaps next time...
G'night all.
