A few random tidbits

1. Geoffery Chaucer Hath a Blog. Medievalists, you will enjoy this one. Other people will think we're nuts. But that's about par for the course anyway.
2. Today, thanks to the ever-lovely

3. You know that feeling of soreness you get in muscles the day after you work out? I had that today. In my abs. My poor aching stomach was not happy with me.
4. Three hours in the library, skimming in three separate languages, completely kills my ability to understand the written word. Thankfully the effects seem temporary. Also thankfully, I'm closer to a paper topic than I was yesterday. With a little luck, I'll be even better tomorrow.
5. Ribs are finger-food. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're missing.
6. It occurs to me that the highest-charisma player in our D&D game is neither the bard nor the two paladins. Instead, it is the half-elf with a charisma of (wait for it...) 19. The mind boggles. We're going to walk into a battle and the enemy will surrender due to sheer force of personality.
7. The B5 spoiler: Okay, the first contact Earth ship has just shot the Minbari Grey Council ship and Dukhat is dead. Delenn is cradling him in her arms. One of the (other) grey council members comes up and urgently says, "Delenn. We need to strike back but the council is divided. Do we follow them back to their base and take revenge, or do we wait, try to figure out what happened? Yours is the deciding vote, Delenn. " Delenn at this point gives her "no mercy" speech, and this results in the Earth-Minbari war.
Now follow the logic: Dukhat and Delenn are (were) both part of the Grey Council. There are (were) nine members of the council. Dukhat is dead and Delenn hasn't voted yet, leaving 7 members who DID vote. How can Delenn have the deciding vote if there has been an odd number of votes so far? Have we been duped all these years?!? The mind boggles...
Okay, so that's it for today. G'night all.
