Affirmation

As some of you know, every year I make a list of the significant things I’ve done over the past year. I tend to do it on my birthday (in May), and this past year I also did one in September to mark the 1-year anniversary of my blog. For the past several years, my life has been getting better and better. I was thinking about writing another list last night, and then I thought to myself, “why not make a list for NEXT year?” It turned into an affirmation of sorts. Here it is:
Why the next year will be the best year of my life
- For the next two months I will have the opportunity to devote myself completely to learning. I will have access to an amazing libirary and smart, motivated people.
- I will be returning to the SCA with more knowledge of the middle ages than I have ever had and will be able to help and teach like never before.
- My entire career is an open book of potential. All paths are open to me, and I have the opportunity to pick a fulfilling, enriching job where I can excel.
- For the first time in my life I will not be dependent on others for money. I will be self-sufficient for the first time. With a steady income, I will be able to tithe and make the world a better place.
- I will have the opportunity to learn new skills I have always wanted to learn—cooking, playing the violin, and drawing.
- I am taking charge of my health and am getting in better shape every day. I know of a way to keep my athsma in check and can spend more time around my cat-owner friends.
- I am rediscovering my spiritual path by combining a unique cosmology with traditional Jewish ritual. Every day, I am learning more about how to connect with my inner self and the world-soul.
- I am smart, loving, energetic, educated, dependable, healthy, and creative. I have family and friends who love me, support me, and want me to succeed. Every day is an opportunity to be better than yesterday. I am alive and living my life to the fullest!
I think I'm going to print it and put it on my wall. Have a great day, everyone! I'm off to do schoolwork.
