Some morning annoyances

eveglass1. The wonderfully worked-out system of using my computer as a loud alarm clock, playing bouncy energetic music... the system that worked so well last week... has stopped working. I don't know why, but my calendar program will not run the file that starts the music. Nor, indeed, will it run any other sort of alarm (even a message or pre-programmed sound). I didn't do anything different to the computer, so I think it's just mad at me.
2. My Latin is not good enough to translate the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I tried, truly I did. I got some of the easy sentences done, but really, I'm just not good enough yet. Maybe by the end of the year. Pah. I was really looking forward to having a Latin Guide.
And now (due to the alarm being off and oversleeping) I am going to have breakfast.
