First off, what has Tim Burton been smoking, and where can I get some? Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night, and there were moments I was just staring at the screen with my mouth open, turning into an unbelieving laugh and several refrains of "oh my god!" Ask Ian. He was there.

Next, sewing continues on apace. I need to have the napkins done by tomorrow to give to Freya, so she can bring them to Pennsic. So far, I've got one done and I'm sewing laurel leaves onto the second. I've figured out that I work at a fairly constant 7 minutes per leaf, and I've done 6 already today, which means I've got just over an hour left to do today and just under two hours tomorrow. I've given up on my plan to couch little laurel wreaths into the corners: I just don't have time. It's my first time doing either apliquee or couch-work, but I like the way it's coming out. It is also, incidentally, a true project now, because it has been bled over (or at least caused pain by stabbing).

My Europe webpage also continues on apace. I've been typing up entries from my diary and am now about halfway done. Hopefully if work continues to be as slow as it has been lately, that amount will go up substantially in the coming days. Then I have to go through the whole thing and edit (both for content and to add the web tags and pictures). I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the summer. I also desperately need to update my SCA page, which has been neglected since late April.

I have finished season 1 of the West Wing. It is MUCH better in order (as opposed to watching random episodes as I catch them). I love a show that's self-referential and has a continuing story-arc.

Speaking of great shows, I've begun rewatching Babylon 5, possibly my favourite show of all time. My dad got copies of the entire show on DVD, so I've been watching them. I've watched 4 episodes so far, all season 1. I have realized two things: 1) I forgot how utterly cheesy season 1 could be. I understand why some people never made it to the fantastic stuff that happened later in the series. 2) It's amazing how far ahead JMS thought. I'm realizing things as I'm watching now that will only resurface in 3 or 4 years! Just passing references, but you can tell JMS was planning on bringing it back in later. Amazing!

And now, back to sewing. TTFN!
