Just an update

Hmm... lots going on in the last few days, which is probably why I haven't written much.
Friday night I went futon shopping with Marc. We didn't buy anything yet, but we know the mattress we want and the general sort of frame. Marc's gonna pick it out and acquire it. (Random side-note: when we move in together, assuming we have enough space, I'm hoping to buy us a king-size bed, so that I can actually sleep in the same bed with the man I love without tossing and turning all night.)
After that, we went to Mike's going-away party. He's probably halfway to Australia by now. Dude, when you come back, we're playing Baron Munchausen, and that's all there is to that.
Saturday started with a trip to the hair salon in the Bay downtown. It was overdue, really. While it was cheaper than most of the salons I've visited ($21.50 after tax but before tip), I'm still ambivalent on the cut: a straight cut at about mouth level. It looks okay, but it's nothing special.
After that it was over to Eric's for about eight hours, to watch Babylon 5 and play Civilization. And eat pie, in honour of pi day (March 14 = 3.14). In B5, we started season 4 and watched four episodes, which places us well into the Shadow War and about 2 episodes from its climactic conclusion. It's a shame that I'm going to be gone next weekend; poor timing, that. On the other hand, I had forgotten that we don't actually see Emperor Cartagia until fourth season. For some reason, I thought he got face-time in third season. Man, is he crazy. Like, megalomaniacal. Speaking of which, Eric, Jing, and I completely conquered the world in about 16 hours. I suppose we'll have to start a new Civ game next time we get together.
Saturday evening I went to Blue's birthday party and got to spend time with not one, but two toddlers. Namely, Kaia and Artemis. I was in heaven. Both of them are now at the stage where they very definitely know what they want, but are still young enough that they really want you there for it. On the other hand, it's really hard for me to carry two toddlers at once, given that my usual toddler-holding position of resting them on a jutted-out hip doesn't work so well when you need to jut both hips at the same time. As usual, a toddler refused to accept the fact that I was leaving, though this time it was Artemis (Kaia, who usually tries to stop me from leaving, was asleep by that point).
Marc came over when he was done at Warren and Blue's, kissed me (I told him to), and thus ended last night. I woke up this morning for a half-hour with Marc before he left for the west island and I left for errands. Completely forgot that the library didn't open until noon today, so I spent a half-hour grabbing a hot chocolate and watching a woman in a track suit talk on the phone while her 10-year-old son tried to find ways to relieve his boredom.
Anyway. This afternoon I went shopping with Ian and watched two episodes of Heroes with him. It was nice. He treated me to lunch and shisha. Watched a third episode tonight because Ian had already seen it. As of now, we're only two episodes behind, though it'll be three episodes behind as of tomorrow night.
I'm PMSing, which is probably why I'm stressed and rambling. I'm kind of nervous about my project at work. While I know that, honestly, it's not going to be my head that rolls if something goes wrong, it's still a bit nerve-wracking to see how much work is left to do with only 12 business days left. Even though I know that there's nothing else I can do than what I've been doing, it's frustrating to see us falling behind. Hopefully the trend will reverse itself.
I'm excited to go to Florida next weekend, even though there's a ton of stuff here in Montreal that I want to do (to whit: the Liberal Arts College 30th reunion, a Great Big Sea concert that Marc wanted to take me to, and our office's sugaring off). It'll be great to see a lot of the people that so far I've only met on the phone and online. I'm planning on coming back tired, though, and it's gonna be an expensive weekend once you factor in the $440 airfare and the US$185 for the hotel room, in addition to meals and suchlike. But it should be fun. I'm anticipating coming back very excited. I don't know what I'll be excited about, but I suspect that I'll be excited about something.
Anyway, I've rambled enough. Time to shower and get to bed.
