What I want in my life

One of my podcasts today asked the question, "What do you want in your life?" It's not about being practical, about what's possible, but about what you want. I thought about this on my way into work this morning, and here’s mine, in no particular order.
- I want to have daily conversations with smart, interesting people.
- I want to have control over my schedule.
- I want to make a difference in people’s lives.
- I want to have a husband who loves me as much as I love him, who shares my values and some of my interests, and who treats me (and others) well.
- I want wonderful, creative, kind children.
- I want a body that looks great in a midrif shirt and shorts.
- I want to teach and learn every day.
- I want time to spend with my family and my friends.
- I want to be able to take guilt-free vacations to visit my out-of-town friends and have new experiences.
- I want enough money to have a comfortable lifestyle.
- I want a closet full of clothes that make me feel like million bucks. Comfortable yet stylish.
- I want to show students how to get the most out of their education.
- I want to write, and I want an encouraging audience for my writing.
- I want to have thought-provoking conversations about everything under the sun.
- I want a home full of comfort, light, and beauty.
- I want to sing or present to cheering audiences.
- I want to host parties where I can introduce people of like interests.
- I want to spend more time playing games and less time (or no time!) playing politics.
- I want to eat food I’ve grown myself.
- I want to live near little cafes, boutiques, libraries, and farmers’ markets. I want access to the Internet.
- I want give and receive love, joy, warmth, compassion, interest, faith, and hugs… all the time.
