Need advice on cell phones

Okay, my oh-so-knowledgeable friends, I need your help again.
Long story short: we're switching cell phone companies and I can get a new cell phone. Pretty much, I can get anything on the Rogers site listed at $150 or less, because I get $150 worth of phone with the new plan.
I have absolutely no idea which phones are good or bad. This is where you come in. I need advice, and I'm looking straight at you (yes, you).
My needs: I want to be able to talk and text-message. I don't care about pictures, videos, web, or any of the other flashy gadgets commonly bundled with phones. I want a phone with a decently loud ringer (my current phone could ring in my purse while I'm at the coffee shop and I won't hear it) and earpiece (I would barely be able to hear the conversation, too). I want a flip-top so I can't push buttons accidentally. No other preferences, really.
So what phones should I be looking at?
