Today's Breadcrumb is about some repetition in the text.

So, I didn't get around to doing the daily weekly update last night, so here we go.

Sunday, March 11:
The day began slowly with a bit of recuperation from the SCA event on Saturday. This was followed by a visit to Ian's parents (and very tasty cooking from Ian's mom). We came back to my place and finished up a game of Roborally that Ian, Jeff, and I had started a few days previous. My goodness, but we hit a wicked board. I won, but only because Ian and Jeff wound up shooting each other into tiny bits of metalic debris.

Afterwards we had another session of Ian's Firefly game, introducing Dimitri as a new player. There was a lot more rolling than normal for Ian's games, but eventually we recovered from the crisis and are now ready to triumpantly prevail in the next session.

Monday, March 12:
aka: The never-ending day of teaching. I began with a new two-hour class at 9:30 am. Normally they'll be on Tuesdays, but just for this week they needed to have class on Monday. In terms of skill level, they're middle-upper intermediate, about halfway between the two groups I've got at EA. Which is good, because it means I'll get to recycle a lot of material, I hope.

That class ended and I walked over to my other class, pausing only to get lunch and call Ian. When that class ended, I planned my lesson for the third class of the day, which began at 4:30. I only had one student -- a pet peeve of mine: I hate when I only have one student. Anyway, by the time I got done with that and back from the south shore (the location of class #3) it was about 7:30. Whew!

On the other hand, I had a great evening. First, coffee with Marc. Then, pool with Marc, Ian, Rob, Liz, and Sam. It's been a very, very long time since I've played pool, and I managed to surprise myself in only being moderately (as opposed to completely) bad. Yay! I actually managed to get a few combos in, and ended the night by winning two games, which is two more than I was expecting. Marc crashed over after pool, and this was also good.

Tuesday, March 13:
Shortly after Marc left, I had lunch with my dad. It's nice, because I hadn't seen my dad in quite a few weeks and I'd missed him.

In the afternoon, I met with an academic advisor at Dawson to find out about taking science courses. The low-down: yes, I can take them. If I take 2 per semester, and manage to both revive my atrophied math skills and do some at-home study to get myself to the level of having high school physics and chemistry, then I'll be done in a year (3 semesters). There are a couple of big "ifs" in there, so we'll see what happens.

Evening was SCA practice. I had a chance to join Valeria and Anorielle colouring in a colouring book, chatted with people about A&S stuff, and may have put Mia's mind at ease somewhat about the non-terror that is documentation for A&S competitions. All told, a good evening.

Wednesday, March 14:
Teaching in the morning, hopped over to the library in the afternoon, and then went over to Ian's for a special session of his Game of Thrones game in the evening. Thankfully, my character is now back into her area of strength (read: big cities and nobility, where she can use her reputation and influence).

Afterwards, Marc came over to my place. We decided we didn't want to go to bed yet, so we walked around in the foggy night. There's a park near my place that looked utterly beautiful in the fog. Werewolf players: it looked like the umbra should look. The fog was just thick enough that you could see a snow-lined path disappear off into it, and see the faint hint of streetlights suggesting where it continued, only to be lost to the mist. It was beautiful.

Thursday, March 15:
Yesterday, I woke up a bit later than I'd intended and made my way to Dawson. It was a light day at the Learning Centre, and I wound up with two hours to kill. In them, I finished reading the library book I'd borrowed, called Jewtopia, and actually really funny.

I was ravenous when my shift ended at 3, so I made my way to Blue Monday in Verdun to have food and read. I curled up in a sunbeam on their very comfy couches with a copy of Snowcrash and got about 75 pages in before it was time for me to leave for karate.

Karate was good, a review of stuff I've done before but didn't know well. Many thanks to Mark, who was my go-to guy when moves weren't working properly. I also got a gift of "pie" (ie: chocolate chip cookies with the pi symbol painted on them in black icing), and it was mightily tasty.

Later last night was Maz. I did two songs: "Soul Man" and "I Love Rocky Road." I figured "I Love Rock and Roll" had become a signature song for me, and it was time to mix it up. I loved the look on a few people's faces when they realized what I was up to.

Friday, March 16: (today)
Today has been great so far. It involved Marc. None of the reasons it has been great are appropriate for a public livejournal post. Sorry, all. You'll just have to use your overactive imaginations.

So that's it. Consider yourselves caught up. I'll try to go back to my one-a-day posts so that I don't get such a backlog.

Until later, then, TTFN!
