I've seen this several times now and figured I'd join in.
1. What is your SCA name? (You don't have to write the full name, just your first name if you want.)
Katherine Ashewode
2. What is your home kingdom?
East Kingdom
3. Have you ever lived in another kingdom? If so, where?
Lived in Ealdormere for 9 months, but didn't participate much.
4. Do you remember your first SCA event? When/what was it?
Lost Caravan, June 1999. I was staying in Freya's tent because I didn't own my own. Also, she was my guardian for the event, as I was 17.
5. Do you have any awards? (You don't have to list them if you don't want)
Just an AoA.
6. Do you list them after your name in communications like e-mail?
No.
7. Do you have a device?
Yes indeedy. Passed and everything -- azure, a decrescent or between three plates.
8. Do you use it? On what?
Occasionally, though I want to use it more for tagging "stuff" that belongs to me.
9. Are you on all the kingdom/society lists available to you, or do you avoid them?
Some of them. My group memberships wax and wane with my interests.
10. Do you keep your Pennsic/Estrella/Gulf Wars/etc. site tokens?
Yes, as well as all my other site tokens for the last 5 years. I want to make a pilgrim outfit using them as pilgrims' badges.
11. Do you keep the favours you've been given by royalty/friends/Sos, etc.? Do You wear them all?
I only have a few, and I keep them, though I generally don't wear them.
12. Do you call your friends by their SCA names even when you're not at an event?
Depends on the person. I honestly don't know some of my friends' mundane names.
13. Do you go out to dinner in garb after an event?
I've been known to do so on occasion.
14. Do you have all kinds of garb, or do you generally stick to one period?
Mostly my stuff is St. Louis shirt inspired, ie: very generic. I'm not sure this actually answers the question.
15. How many interests do you have within the SCA? What's your favourite?
My primary interest is bardic (both composing and performing), though I've dabbled in quite a bit of other stuff. I want to get into calligraphy and illumination at some point in the near future.
16. Do you have an SCA-oriented web site (to show off projects, keep dress diaries, etc.)?
Yes: The SCA Without Breaking the Bank.
17. Do you maintain a hairstyle that is more period style than modern? How about any other part of your appearance?
If you count, "not getting around to cutting my hair so it grows long and I can occasionally braid it"... then yes, I suppose.
18. Do you tell "No $###, there I was" stories? (Admit it.)
Sometimes. I find other people have better ones than I do.
19. Authenticity is Fun. Yes or no?
Yes, depending on the thing. Authentic garb can be beautiful. Authentic furniture is way nifty. Authentic hygene is right out.
20. Is there one modern thing at events that really bugs you?
People talking about obviously modern stuff, like computers or TV shows. I find it much harder to turn a blind ear than a blind eye.
Bonus Question! 21. Everyone has a shameful garb/accessory mistake hidden somewhere in their past. What's yours?
I think I'm still wearing it, actually. My garb is slow in evolution.
