Apartment update - the morning after

Spoke to the woman at the landlord company. She said that they ask for cash for the first month because 1) it takes the bank longer to process the first month, and 2) I'm a new tenant with no track record. After the first month, cheques or post-dated cheques are fine.

So I'm off to go pay that tonight. Second time's a charm.

Edited to add: Got off the phone with the landlord company (again), and they've confirmed that paying the first month by certified cheque or money order is also fine. Yay for not carrying around large amounts of cash.

Apartment update - It's official!

Yay! First month's rent is paid, I have a copy of the lease, and it looks like we'll be moving in at the beginning of October. For the curious and/or forgetful, it's here.

Now to start making all those plans I was putting off. *grin*
