Chocolate fondue party is TOMORROW!

Just a reminder that the chocolate fondue party is tomorrow at my place. I provide the chocolate, you provide stuff to dunk in it.

We're starting in the early afternoon and going until we all fall into sugar-induced comas. There are a number of people who will only be arriving after work, so if you're working, you have no excuse. Come anyway! The best way to relax after a long day at work is with caffein and sugar, of course!

After 11 years...

...it looks like it might be time for me to get a new watch.

My skin is very acidic and eats through both leather (relatively quickly) and metal (more slowly). Over the past 11 years, I've been slowly wearing away at the plating on the inside of the metal watch-band. As I looked at it just now, I realized I've worn through so much that some of the pins are showing between the links in the band and it's likely only a matter of weeks (I think) before the links start coming apart.

The way the band connects up to the watch is non-standard, and while I'm sure I could probably find another band that would fit, it might actually be time to move on in my life and replace the Tigger watch. Shocking, I know. Children of the world will mourn. But the stars might be in alignment. The time might be right. I think. No way to know without a timepiece that won't fall off my wrist.

Listening to a girl try to convince her friend that "mannerisms" isn't a real word, and that he really means "manners."

Her friend isn't really helping his case by telling her that he learned the word "mannerisms" from Family Guy.

I want 1/10th of Neil Gaiman's talent

For those who don't know, you can watch Neil Gaiman reading the entirety of The Graveyard Book, chapter by chapter, at this link.

I've spent the last two or three hours watching the first three chapters.

I want a tenth of this man's talent. I can only imagine what my dreams are gonna be like tonight.

Edited to add: Huh. Looks like I dreamed about Transformers. Who'd a thunk it?
