Subtitle should read: "There's only a few things that make me happy: drinking beers, four-letter words, middle fingers, drinking more beers."

Subtitle reads: "There's only a few things that make me happy: drinking beers, falling out of words, middle fingers, drinking more beers."

How does that even work? "Whoops, shook the Word Boat as I was getting in and fell into the Word Ocean?"

Subtitle should read: "I'd blow a knee out."

Subtitle reads: "I'd blow a knee up."

Kaboom!
Nothin' quite like finding out at 5 pm on a Friday evening that there's 5 rush files that fell through the cracks and need to be delivered today. By you. And the stage before you isn't ready yet.

Joy, joy, joy.

By the way, the machine at the metro station to recharge my Opus card refused to believe that I had in fact inserted my Opus card to be recharged. So hopefully the nice metro people will let me in the metro after work so I can take it to Berri to get my card replaced. 'Cause I'm sure as heck not paying for another one.
Okay, updates momentarily, but first: I'm on Twitter. Not planning on posting for at least a few days until I get the lay of the land, but if you're on Twitter, you can drop me a line and say hi at http://www.twitter.com/juliegolick (Yes, I'm using my real name. Just seemed easiest, somehow.)

Updated at 12:19 am to add: I've been on Twitter less than 2 hours and I already have 8 followers. Problem is, I have no idea who 5 of them are. Anyone else experienced this? Do people just troll for random new members to friend?

In other news:
- My new ipod is lots and lots of fun. Watched two TED talks today while I was on the metro. So much fun. I've "only" got about 8 gig of stuff on it, but I expect that to expand in the future.

- Marc treated me to Juliette & Chocolate tonight. It's been a while since we went. SO much chocolate. SO yummy. (SO bad for me. *grin*) Thanks, Marc!

- Got my OPUS card replaced. Process was quick and painless once I finally got to Berri, and the woman who served me was very nice. And now I have a card that works, so all's well on that front.

- I'm having lots of fun with the "Picture Plus" feature of SendOutCards, which allows you to upload your own pictures to use as the front of your cards, as well as personalize them by adding borders, captions, thought bubbles, etc. However, it has driven home the point to me that my next major purchase will be a new digital camera, as the resolution on mine (about 3.5 megapixels) isn't enough to get a good image on a standard card.
