New ipod on the horizon?

Help me, great LJ brain!

I'm contemplating buying a new ipod (a classic) because my current ipod is almost 4 years old and getting kind of beat up. But I don't want to buy a current ipod if there's a new one on the horizon. Does anyone know if Apple is in the planning stages for a new ipod, or is the one that's up there now going to be around for a little while?
